7: Gyro knives, short spears, knives with stabilizer fins are not allowed. The only thing allowed to be attached to the knife is scales.

Axe/Tomahawk Requirements

1: Widest part on the axe head can’t exceed 12cm (~4.7”).
2: Minimum handle length is 30 cm (~11.8”). (Certain mountain man competitions required a tomahawk and allow shorter handles). Handles must be straight. (Slight curves like a boy scout handle are legal as long as you can draw a straight line through the handle).
3: Axes with a spike on the back are allowed. Spikes or blades in line with the handle are not. If the axe is being held into the target by anything other than the front bladed edge it will not count.
4: Double headed axes are allowed. However, 1 side must clearly be marked as the scoring edge.
5: You must throw an axe or tomahawk. If you are unsure if your implement qualifies, please contact Blade Aces.
6: If you draw a straight line up the middle of your handle, then draw an angle 45 degrees below, the highest point on your axe must be below that angle.
7: The blade edge of the axe/tomahawk must be 1 curve, or have no more than 1 angle.
8: You must have 3 axes/tomahawks to compete in conventional events. However, if 1 breaks during competition, you will be allowed to finish the competition with the remaining 2.
9:  The use of mechanical aid to throw the axe/tomahawk is not allowed.
10: All axes/tomahawk are subject to final approval by Blade Aces.
